Hello...
I hope you are doing well. We're really gearing up here for a busy
year...In fact, we're neck-deep in it already.
First off, the last of the 'USED' art prints and the MELVINS prints are
moving out of the door as we speak. Thanks for everyones' patience. There
were a LOT of posters to process and ship and everyone around here has been
extremely busy, but we finally got it all done. Remember, if you EVER have a
question about a pending order, dont hesitate to contact us. You aren't
'pestering' us: it's YOUR money.
Anyways, now it's time to finally round out the 2004 calender-year posters.
Due to our busy schedulaes in late 2004 and other issues regarding sales, we
haven't been able to release these until now. The final 3 poster releases
from 2004 will be released Thursday, Feb. 24th, 2005 at 2 PM central time.
Here's the stuff:
-HELMET-
Finally, here it is. We've had seemingly hundreds of inquiries about it
since the actual show, and now here it is. It measures approx. 23x16 inches
and is screenprinted (the copper/gold color is a metallic ink). Another
chapter in the ongoing story of Squire and his funny little brood of rabbits
and their harrassment of a family of raccoons. A signed and numbered run of
only 100 copies.
-GALACTIC-
Another 'finally' poster. This one was done for a GALACTIC show in October
2004, and after several months of back-and-forth with the band and the
promoter, we are now able to offer it to you. This poster measures approx.
21x16 inches and is screenprinted. From a signed and numbered run of only
125: this was the second GALACTIC poster I did in 2004 (the first one sold
out within a week).
-FINE ART PRINT- "USED (Prologue): 'The User Is Using'"
The act of selfishly 'using' a mixed-up rock-n-roller ain't a new concept.
One of the more recent examples of this was the topic of the first 'USED'
print released 2 weeks ago. This time around, I present a prologue: an
actual 'user' in the act of USING. Whether he was just confused, too dumb,
or too high, old Sid never stood a chance against this piece-of-work. Gals
like Nancy are a hard act to follow...but then, some say that Kurt found his
very own. Anyways...this is a screenprinted piece...and measures approx.
22x16 inches...with bright colors and metallic gold ink. You know what
happened with the last USED print...so act accordingly if you want one,
folks. LIMIT OF 2 PER BUYER.
So there it is. The final posters made available from 2004.
REMEMBER...Thursday, Feb. 24th at 2 pm central time. First come - first
served.
Also, now that Im able to release the last 2004 posters to the general
public, the last installments of the 2004 AP sets will be shipping to you
2004 subscribers...including the rare AP set DERO variant. We'll get that
stuff together and shipped as soon as we can.
Lastly...some of you in NYC attended the big U.S. TOY CON...and if you paid
a visit to the STRANGECO booth, you saw an unpainted prototype of the next
vinyl action figure Im doing: 'Squire'. Look forward to more info. about
that very soon. Also, FAO SCHWARTZ, the big toy store, is now carrying DERO
action figures in their designer vinyl sections of select stores. They've
only got limited numbers. Look for 'em!
Next time...the first of the '05 posters.
By the way, have you ever read any of the experiences of Theodore Illion?
He wrote quite a bit...and what he did write has been suppressed by
many...because it comes too 'close'.
anyways...

Hi...
Hope things are going well for you. Two big things to tell you about...I'll get right to it.
First...and FINALLY...the DERO figures. On THURSDAY, DEC. 9th, 2004 the DERO figures will officially go on sale. There is an extremely limited number of the DERO figure available. The regular edition is limited to 600 pieces. A nice little chunk of those sold at the recent gallery opening I had with WOOTINI in North Carolina. Remember too that a portion of these 600 are being distributed by STRANGE CO. , so the figures WOOTINI and I will have for sale online will be LIMITED IN QUANTITY! FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!
Also, there will be a quantity of the rare SHADOW DERO also available for sale. There were only 250 of these produced and our quantities are VERY limited.
Here are images of both the regular DERO and the SHADOW DERO, just in case you haven't seen them:
.
Now, how do you buy these? PAY ATTENTION:
On Thursday, Dec. 9th, at 2 PM Central Standard Time, the figures will go on sale at the WOOTINI website:
http://www.Wootini.com
The site will be inactive until then, so as to insure a fair shot for everyone who wants to snag some DERO. The regular DERO will be 35.00 plus shipping/handling. The SHADOW DERO will be 40.00 plus shipping/handling. The figures are packaged in a box that was originally designed by myself.
FIGURES WILL SHIP IN JANUARY.
When you do get on the site tomorrow (www.Wootini.com) look around VERY closely. There may be a chance to snag one of the 12 remaining DERO SETS, containing the regular DERO and all 3 general variants of the figure. Not promising anything...but LOOK! ;)
REMEMBER: THURSDAY. DEC. 9th. 2 PM CST. LIMITED QUANTITIES. DONT MISS OUT!
(Wholesale inquiries for orders of 10 or more of a certain figure can be directed to me at Jermaine@JermaineRogers.com)
Now...heres the other big news: ANOTHER gallery opening.
This weekend, Saturday, Dec. 11th at Chindogu Gallery in Oklahoma City, OK (inside Size Records - 8915 n. western ave - 405.607.4805) join us for the show: 'I DONT MIND IF YOU FORGET ME': The Artwork of Jermaine Rogers and Leia Bell. Im super excited to be doing a showing with Leia Bell, an amazing artist from Salt Lake City. As soon as I got a chance, I asked her to show with me and she said, 'yes'! Check her out at:
http://www.LeiaBell.com
We'll have posters, prints, original art, paintings...and Ill have a few DERO figures there for sale, also. Ill be bringing some very rare, never offered things.
The opening night reception is 7 to 11 pm and Leia and I will both be there. We expect a decent crowd and a lot of fun. You'll also be able to pick up a set of 2 posters that Leia and I made for the show...both silkscreened and VERY limited. Check em out:
.
So come if you can. It should be fun.
Thats really all I have. The years ending, but a lot of new things are just starting. Next week, Ill make a couple more posters available, including an art print that I think you'll dig. We'll also talk 2005 SUBSCRIPTIONS. Many of you have been asking about this for many weeks...and next week Ill lay it all out for you...how to get one, how much theyll cost, etc.
BTW, if you haven't seen it yet, hit your local book store and pick up a copy of THE ART OF MODERN ROCK. Its being called the 'Bible' of the poster movement, and fortunately theres more than a bit of my little scratchings in there. This past week or so weve been mentioned in NEWSWEEK, NME, and the NY TIMES. More to come. Its staggering to know just how much great work is being produced in our time...and this huge volume makes a valiant attempt at telling the story. Go here for more info: http://www.artofmodernrock.com
Until next week...remember:
LIFE is HAPPENING...

OK...
Hope everyone is OK. A lot to say to you this time with some important info. So stay with me. There's a LOT of info. here: toys, a show, and new posters.
First...TOYS.
Well, youve been waiting for the DERO action figures for months. And now, they're here. Co-produced by STRANGE CO. and Wootini, and personally designed by myself, the DERO figure is 8 inches of beautifully rotocasted vinyl with articulation. The figure is a new step into an exciting world...and only a FIRST step. Wait until you see what's next!
Here's a quick sneak peak at the DERO figure:

The DERO figure will also have a few variants which will also be very rare. I wont show them all to you, here...but I will give you a peek at one. The DERO as I first saw them...at night in my bedroom...watching from the shadows. It's the SHADOW DERO:
The figures will be available for sale starting in late Novemeber. And you've only seen 1 of the variant figures: there are 3 more!
Want a chance to see and BUY them all before the general public has a chance, INCLUDING an EXTREMELY rare exclusive figure? Then you want to be in Carrboro (Chapel Hill), North Carolina on Friday, Nov. 19th!

Other artists in the Carrboro/Chapel Hill/Raleigh/Durham area are excited to try their hand at channeling 'DERO', as well.
The Dero Tribute Show will feature such locally based artists as Casey Burns, David Rose, Ron Liberti, Dale Flattum (TOOTH), Michael Traister, Jerstin, Joe Kinder, and Sin Ltd., creating their interpretation of my creation.
The opening reception will be held on Friday, November 19th, from 7pm - 12am in the historic Carr Mill Mall's 'Resuscitated Pilgrim' Gallery. The Carr Mill Mall is a late 19th-century structure listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is an aesthetic 'center' for the area.

So much to do, so much to say. Several pieces of information for the curious...I'll start from the top...
1.) This week, I'll release 3 new posters for sale. The MC5 print is the first, and it's already available...just head over to the 2004 poster section if you want one. Check it out, HERE.
Also coming will be the long awaited and VERY limited AIR print. A signed and numbered run of only 30 makes this one an ultra rare catch. Ill alert everyone on the JermaineRogers.com mailing list as to the exact time this print, as well as the much awaited FINCH print, will goon sale. If you aren't on the mailing list, it might be a good idea for you to get on it. Just send us an email and let us know that you want to be down: Jermaine@JermaineRogers.com
2.) Also, I just recently did the official tour print for the DEFTONES 2004 Fall Tour. A little sideways exercise in the SQUIRE storyline. The image will also be on an official DEFTONES shirt very soon...available at all the usual places (i.e.) Hot Topic, etc. So, look for it. Anyways, as far as the poster goes...NO: you cannot get it from me. Here's the deal: the signed and numbered run is 125 copies. The place to get them is at the shows. Find out if the DEFTONES are playing near you and go to the show. On the first night these prints went on sale (San Diego show) they sold a CHUNK of them. Get what I'm saying? You should really think about going to a show in your area, or asking a friend who's going, to get you one...if you want one. There is talk of them holding a small amount back for their website..but I wouldn't count on it. Check it out HERE.
3.) Finally, it's time to announce the winner of the CREATE A POSTER WITH JERMAINE contest. Months ago, I gave everyone a shot to submit artwork (in the empty space on the DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN poster from earlier this year) and the top 3 pieces chosen by me would win very nice prizes. 2nd and 3rd place winners will recieve a 60.00 shopping spree at JermaineRogers.com. 1st place recieves the chance to create a real concert print with me. So...after a ton of submissions, the winner is:
Jaime Platt
Jaime did a great job...using mixed media and creating some very weird imagery...intergrating a lot of text into the mix (which pushed his over the edge with me). Good stuff. Soon, Jaime and I will begin the process of making a poster. Congratulations!
2nd and 3rd place winners:
- Darian Fontenot...for an amazing image of a winged tiger-man-thing. Very unsettling.
- Genevieve Bludsworth...for the illo of that sad, weird girl with the awesome eyes.
There you go. You three winners send me an email and we can arrange for you to start collecting your jack. Again, thanks to everyone who entered. It was tough to choose. A lot of you guys really have the goods, artistically speaking. Keep nurturing it. And remember, all it takes is going to your local club/ promoter/ venue and asking someone in charge for permission to do a few flyers for a certain show. Try it. It's an age-old STEP ONE.
4.) Two gallery shows of mine have been scheduled for this Fall/Winter season. The first will happen on Nov. 19th in the Chapel Hill/ Carrboro, N.C. area. It will be a DERO 'resurfacing'. With many 'friends' in attendance. It should be very cool. More information is forthcoming.
The second show will be in OKC, OK in early December. This will be a 2 'man' show, featuring myself and the amazing Leia Bell. The name of the show is 'I DONT MIND IF YOU FORGET ME', and works from both Leia and myself will be in abundance, including posters, prints, paintings and some of the DERO figures. I like Leia quite a bit and I love her artwork...so when the oppurtunity presented itself for me to ask her to show with me, I jumped on it. More info on this one later.
Well, I'll stop here...for now. There's a lot happening over the next few months.
Stick with me...
with a passionate, jealous kind of love...

The year is going by so fast. Too fast. It makes you think about mortality sometimes. Life is moving fast...parents getting older, children growing up, and your own body getting weaker. Then you jerk yourself out of your self-serving daydream and get back in the race...
Anyways, the DERO Vinyl Action Figure is coming soon. FInally, sculpts are done and we are in production. I really think you all are going to be quite pleased. Several folks in the designer toy industry have had a peek at what we've got so far. A rep for one of the leading groups in the field saw the figure and simply said, 'THAT thing is SO sweet!' Soon. Very soon. ;)
Plans for the art show in December that I mentioned last time are just about complete. It will be a 2 man show: I'll be showing with another really cool, well-known artist that I asked to show with me. It should be quite a show...because this other artist is really good. There will likely be another show in December, near Christmas, in Houston. A big solo showing of posters, prints and many paintings.
My body-clock is all out of whack. Im suffering with horrible insomnia lately...and it's killing me during the day. I don't know what brought it on. I think I need new pillows.
And football season is here...which further nourishes my senses of security. You know, your mind gets used to things moving in cycles...every year about this time your mind comes to expect football...and there it is. Its similar to how I view television. The regular schedule of the shows breeds security in me. I hate this time of year when they screw with all the schedules on the syndicated channels. Like, I need to know that JUDGE MATHIS comes on at THIS time and that MAURY POVICH comes on at THAT time. Ancient man set his schedule by the stars. I use the TV guide. Pathetic.

I bought a brand-new industrial shreder today. I love it. It's very theraputic. It calmes my nerves...the sounds it makes. The way it shreds papers...staples, even credit cards.
Im just about to finalize an art show for this upcoming December. I will be showing with another artist...one of my favorite new talents to come along in the last couple of years. I'll announce that info. soon. If you're keeping score, thats 3 art shows of mine happening later this year. And there will be more scheduled. I'm going to try and end this whole thing with a bang this year.

Hello. Its been some time since a news update and I apologize. I am continually trying to get my affairs more 'together' and have regualr news updates here on the site. I get diverted so often...but I think Im going to do it this time. Regular news updates. A lot is always happenning, and I'll start writing it down. I think I can. I think I can...
Currently Im in the middle of several projects. The new DERO action figures are just about here. More info. on those later. Also, there are new posters in the works for The Cure, Franz Ferdinand, Phantom Planet, Rooney, and The Pixies. This fall should be very busy. Look forward to 2 art showings on the east coast: cities will be announced VERY soon.
Then theres the paintings. Ive finished 4 canvases in the last month and really feel myself hitting a stride. Im currently working on a huge piece, 5 ft. x 5 ft., to hang in my sitting room at the Hazard Compound: a centerpiece of sorts. Its the first painting, or any type of artwork for that matter, that Ive created for myself in several years. It's coming along nicely. It will be an ode to my two artistic heroes of the 'modern art' era. Can you guess who?
Also, Im giving much renewed attention to the website. The ARTWORK sections will be added to significantly over the next few days, including images of the recent paintings from this year. I will begin including step by step photos, as many of you have requested such. This way you'll be able to see just how my paintings take shape. The process can be interesting. I've already begun to get a new cycle of commisions for paintings, my first bulk of commisions in several months. I hadnt taken any new commisions for paintings since late last year, so it feels good to be pushed for new work. If you're interested in owning a painting, don't be afraid. Pricing is RELATIVE. Inquire.
Personally, Im doing my best to stay focused.

This year is really going by fast. Hopefully you all are doing as well as you can in this world.
Well, as for me, you've probably noticed that I released the 'CASUALTIES' series that I had been telling you all about. CASULATIES is actually part of the series of posters for the current BUILT TO SPILL tour. Think of it as sort of a 'project-within-a-project'.
So, what IS CASULATIES? Well, it's a little collaborative effort between myself and poster/design legend Art Chantry. We decided to make a very special type of poster for the Houston date of the BUILT TO SPILL tour. We created a rough 'design', which basically advertised the show in the most simple terms. We then took this design and printed OVER THE TOP of other concert posters. Actual concert posters which we both had in our collections...some from my catalog, some from Chantry's, and a few from other artists' we admire: all of these posters fell as 'casualties' of our little idea. What resulted was a batch of various defaced/enhanced posters...of various sizes, styles and formats...all containing the same 'new' BUILT TO SPILL image screenprinted over the existing imagery.
It was really quite coincidental that Chantry and I had thought of doing something like this at some point in our careers: obviously he had been thinking about it much longer than I had. I had already planned to do something similar to the 'CASUALTIES' project on my own: the idea being to sacrifice many of the older, more sought after and 'valuable' posters that I had done in my career....Neil Young 99, Radiohead 01, TOOL 98, KMFDM from 95 (the first major band poster Id used my 'teddy bear' character on), etc. I planned to just take a random show, and print it OVER these older, sought after things. Meanwhile, Art had been playing with this idea for years. So, this seemed like the perfect project to have a go...
I am constantly amazed at how certain posters are 'valued'. This is why I knew I would use some of the more valuable things I had done. Remember, in this project...most of the pieces are pieces by Art and I...and are very 'collectible' pieces, some of them. So, realize...we 'X'd' ourselves FIRST and FOREMOST. We are no different from any of the other artists in the concert poster field. I personally wanted to see just HOW people would aesthetically and financially assign value to something that had been drastically altered. If we printed over one of Chantry's early 'Garageshock' posters...or over one of my RADIOHEAD posters from 2001...would it still be worth what it was? Would it now be worth more? Or had our defacing it drastically devalued the poster? Or was it now a totally NEW piece...and therefore, it needed to acquire value all on it's own?
I also wanted to test something out. Ive heard from so many folks in the concert poster arena that what we do is NOT 'art'...it's advertising. Some feel that these posters are true 'ephmera'...folks wont even care about them years from now. They are simply ADS. Well, Ive always begged to differ...and after this project, Im more resolute in my stand. Obviously, by some of the reactions from other artists in the field, they're a heck of a lot more than just 'ads'. Some of our colleagues' reactions were as if we had drawn devil horns on the 'Mona Lisa'. My point is that this is EXACTLY the reaction they should have. I dont just 'make ADS'. I try to make thoughtful, breathing ART. The majority of poster artists working today are NOT just pitchmen. They are ARTISTS...and their posters are ART. And the best way to demonstrate this was to sacrifice some of their beautiful work. You may say that Im full-of-it, here...but yea...this was a 'props' to the artists we used. Thats why I wanted to call this 'casualties'. Like soldiers slain in battle for the bigger 'idea'. These posters...mostly MINE and ART's, along with a few others, were 'sacrificed' to make several 'points'. Some of the artists whose work we used were Frank Kozik, Jay Ryan, and EMEK, among others. Sacrifices for the 'idea'. And on an idea like this, you have to go all the way....
As for using the teddy bear...well...believe me, that was not 'accidental'. Of course it was ugly. And pink. It HAD to be. Think about it.
We werent trying to make a 'beautiful' piece of art. The 'art' is in the idea. Look deeper than the paper.
What's amazing is the response. Now, in the artists community...theres folks who say 'brilliant' and folks who say 'whatever'. We expected that. On the other hand, collectors are NUTS over it. They 'get it'. Ive gotten these very eloquent dissertations from poster fans on why they felt this was important and were glad we did it.
Ive also heard, 'What has this got to do with Built To Spill?'...as if we somehow didn't hold true to our 'job' of designing a poster with, above all else, BUILT TO SPILL in mind.
Well, put it this way:
-The posters were used to promote this show. The show sold out
-The band LOVED the posters. They spent half an hour trying to choose which ones they wanted for themselves.
- About 80 copies of the poster were brought to the actual show that night, and sold from the merch tables for charity. The fans at the show (the ones whom would easily spot something that has NOTHING to do with the band theyve just paid to see) bought every single poster.
Think about it.
Anyways...just a few of my ideas behind this project since many of you have asked me through emails and phone calls. Its just a poster. Right? Is it?
See, at least...in this little posters case, we're thinking about it.
9-20-03
Hey. A month since the last update. There's been tons of new posters since then. Just go to the POSTERS section and check out '2003'.
Some things are going down...heavy things...and it's changing me. Im starting to 'morph' and I feel it. The artwork will be a casualty of whats occuring in my head. I am no longer concerned with 'spit' and 'polish'. Do you get what I'm saying?
Im wrestling with my feelings on paper and canvas...and more and more, my feelings are winning. 'Jermaine', aesthetically speaking, is LOSING.
You get where I'm coming from?

Hello...Been a while since a news update. I hope
you're OK and healthy and all that...A WHOLE lot has happened since we last talked.
Here's what's new...
First off, the Post Neo Explosionism crew went to Europe...for the UGLY AMERICANS tour.
Justin Hampton, EMEK, & myself would like to thank the Richard Goodall Gallery, along
with the Queens Of The Stone Age, who showed up at the gallery on opening night and
hung out with us and entertained tons of folks who came out to see the artwork. Also
a special thanks to Rick De Jong, who made our stay in Amsterdam so much nicer...and also
ZZ TOP frontman, Billy Gibbons, for being so cool and nice when we saw him in Amsterdam.
And we cant forget our friends at NME, SMJ Concerts, and FOPP Music Store.
Finally, we want to thank all of you who came out to see us. For pics and more info. on
the show, goto PostNeoExplosionism.com! In the next day or so, a full wrap-up of the show
will be posted there.
There's a new poster available as of RIGHT NOW, and they won't last too
long: thats a warning. Its for a show last week featuring the amazing band,
MODEST MOUSE, with opening act, The Radar Brothers. The poster is a 17x11
glossy offset poster, printed on 100lb. gallery card and is from a very
limited signed and numbered edition of only 75. It's the latest of my
'painted posters', and has generated a bit of discussion about everything
from it's 'relevance' to the band, to how awfully 'incorrect' it is that I
use 'color' in amateurish, improper ways. Whatever...you decide for
yourself. If you want one of these, goto the site and get it. If you want to
see it, here.
The imagery for the Modest Mouse poster is related to certain Modest Mouse
lyrics, primarily found on scattered between track #9 - #14 on their CD,
'The Moon & Antarctica'. The painted imagery also has quite a bit of
interwoven symbolism...in a very personal way.
The painting was done over the course of two days while I was recovering
from an illness and still dealing with bouts of residual vertigo. Some of
this painting, I dont quite remember painting. Here's a look at the original
work, entitled 'VanGogh & The Child Of The Infected'.
Also coming up in the next 2 weeks to a month:
-Neil Young & Crazy Horse
- Grandaddy / Super Furry Animals
-Hey Mercedes / Sense Field
-The DEFTONES
-Built To Spill ( a NEW PNE project with MANY special 'guests')
-RADIOHEAD
Plus, an update of content on the website and information about
'CASUALTIES'...it's coming this fall from JermaineRogers.com.
We'll talk next week.

The new Tori Amos poster is now available for sale. The image is taken from a painting I did
recently. I messed around with the colors a bit after I got it in my computer. Lots of pattern
inversion and stuff...and the image just sorta came on out. It's different, but that shouldn't be
a big surprise to you. ;)
You know, old Genesis (with Peter Gabriel at vocals) rocks. Genesis gets a bad rap, mainly
because of the Phil Collins 'Invisible Touch' stuff. But in the 70s, man...they rocked. Even the
early Phil Collins stuff...like TRICK OF THE TAIL: that stuff is good.
Im hungry. It's 3:19 PM, and I haven't eaten all day.

New stuff available. Posters for The Faint and Les Savy Fav and The Subhumans
are now available. Also, the elusive QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Oklahoma City poster is
finally available. It's a 17x11 glossy offset masterpiece. All of these new posters can be
ordered immediately, so act fast. Go to the POSTERS area of the website to check them out.
Also, we are almost ready to reveal all of the details about the next POST NEO EXPLOSIONISM
show..as well as our next big collaborative project. Stay tuned.
Coming next week, posters for BRIGHT EYES and WEEN.
I'm really tired and have been kind of sick lately, due to the stupid amounts of stress I've
been voluntarily loading on my back. I haven't really had a break for about a year, now.
Last week, my body made me pay for it. So, Im slowly getting back into the routine around
here.
The good thing is that the art has been flowing out of my hands. I've finished 2 new paintings,
both of which sold fairly quickly, and the new poster imagery is quite good, I think. Expect to
see some pretty experimental things over the next few months. Im in one of those amazing
periods where the art is controlling ME, rather than the opposite. What that happens, you
sort of just let go.
By the way, for those of you who always ask, right now I'm reading the following:
DARKNESS OVER TIBET by Theodore Illion
PAST SHOCK: The Origin Of Religion And It's Impact On Humanity by Jack Barranger
RONIN: The Graphic Novel by Frank Miller
and several of those old cheap horror comics from the 70's.
...and I'm listening to the following:
WINTER IN AMERICA by Gil Scott Heron
THE POSTAL SERVICE by The Postal Service
NOW YOU KNOW by Doug Martsch
RATS by The Subhumans
HELL by James Brown
I need new eyeballs...

Tying up loose ends and making final preparations for the POST NEO
EXPLOSIONISM show in Seattle with Emek, Justin Hampton, and myself.
There will be MANY of my pieces there which have been unavailable
for YEARS. We're also giving a couple of prize packages to a few fortunate
folks who show up. Original art, RARE posters, and other surprises:
someone's going to walk away with a motherlode. Speaking of Seattle,
thanks to a friend of ours in the 'Emerald City', we have a couple
of photos of the new MORRISSEY poster on display the night of the
show. Check it: |
 |
The
poster was on display, safe behind glass from the rabid fans. The
people at the Paramount say the demand for the poster was insane.
Im glad I was able to do something to promote one of the most outstanding
artists/performers of our day. Viva MORRISSEY! |
 |
8/23/02
New poster available for one of my faves, Mr. Steven Patrick Morrissey...otherwise
known as MORRISSEY. This poster will be VERY rare- we only produced
as many as we needed to pay for the run provided to the promoters.
Here's the image:
The image is
based on several of my favorite personalities from late 19th century
Europe. From left to right we have Mr. Oscar Wilde, the brooding
Mr. Felix Feneon, our boy Moz, and Mr. Tolouse Lautrec. Wilde often
hung out with journalist/anarchist Feneon and artist Lautrec during
his extensive stays in Paris. There's an amazing book by David Sweetman
called 'EXPLOSIVE ACTS' that further explores the relationship between
these three men. Creative, intelligent, and full of wit... the 'thinkers'
of the 'Fin De Siecle' period in France were men of another time...and
in some ways, so is Morrissey. So, I depict him here among his 'element':
creative, thinking individuals. I tend to think that Moz would be
in 'heaven', here. :) Lautrec electrified Paris for about a decade
with edgy paintings and illustrations. A Physical deformity made
him very small and crippled: he was only about 4 ft. tall and walked
with a cane. He was a very troubled, self-conscious man...and he
haunted the Paris brothels and dance-halls...painting what he saw.
His addiction to absinthe and a case of syphlis finally did him
in. He was only in his early 30s. A genius. Felix Feneon was a man
of many talents. A writer, journalist, critic and anarchist, he
probably had the most critical 'grey-matter' of the 'gang'. He saw
the edgy writing of Wilde and the risque subject matter of Lautrec's
work as metaphorical of an entire society bordering on anarchy.
He began to embrace the 'post-impressionists' as heralders of reform.
Men like Seurat, Van gogh, and Lautrec stoked his fires of creative
writing. Talent is bunches. He lived the longest of the three, dying
during WW2. Wilde eventually moved to Paris, for all intents and
purposes...and died there in a hotel. He is buried in Pere LaChaise
Cemetary in Paris (Ive stood before the huge Egyptian-style grave).
His final words? While dying in a cheap Paris hotel and focusing
on the appearance of the room, he said, 'Either the wallpaper goes,
or I go!' Then he died. Classic, wouldnt you say?
So, theres your Morrissey poster background.

Long time with no news, huh?
I've been super busy. In the last month weve turned out MUCH work.
Posters, game layouts, t-shirts, a cd-single cover and the wrap up
of the Houston Press Music Awards. I also did the cover for the last
issue of the Houston Press. Check it:
They specifically asked for a teddy bear...and wanted it to do with
rock-n-roll', of course. So, I modeled it after the REAL king of rock-n-roll.
If you don't know, ask somebody. |

Hey....
New stuff all the way around...
First, there are 3 new posters. We are posting this news because we
have been getting so many questions about all 3, as theyve already
hit the streets/ web in promotional functions. They are not available
YET.
-BREEDERS-
The Breeders concert poster for the upcoming Aug. 12 show in Houston
is, in fact, 2 posters. The set of 2 are 17x11 glossy offsets and
will have very limited signed and numbered runs of 50 each. The images
are actually based on 2 paintings I completed specifically for this
set. They are also the first 'chapter' (for lack of a better word)
in the revelation of who and what the Teddy Bear characters are. The
bears have been popping up in my posters for about 4 years now...and
yes, there was ALWAYS a story behind them. Between now and the next
several months, the whole story will be revealed. In addition, beginning
next month, there will be a section of the website dedicated to the
saga, with in depth details of the characters (some youve met, some
you haven't) as well as time-lines and weekly updates that will shed
more light on the horrible tragedy of the 'bears' and the terrible
secret they hold. Stay tuned: there will be more surprises, including
special items you'll be able to get your hands on. Here are the Breeders
posters. They will be available for preorder towards the end of next
month: |

|
-HOUSTON
PRESS MUSIC AWARDS-
The Houston Press Music Awards is held annually in downtown Houston.
An amazing event, the Awards showcases dozens of Houston's greatest
bands, as well as national acts. This year, yours truly has supplied
the artwork for the Awards, including this super screenprinted poster
which will only be available on the day of the event here in Houston.
A very small amount of them, though, will be available exclusively
on the website. A VERY limited amount: a signed and numbered artists
proof edition of ONLY 25. That's right. First come first served.
These will be available for ordering July 21st.
Check it out-
Finally, check out EBAY (http://www.ebay.com ) for a new batch of
RARE items up for auction. Here's a chance for you to snag some
REALLY rare jack at a good price. Just go over to the site, and
search for auctions by:
official*jermaine*art (asteriks included!) Go for it. That's all
for right now. Hope everyone is OK and staying busy. Me? Well, Im
jamming on all of my old THIN LIZZY records and working. Here's
what Im working on RIGHT now: new posters for-
-Weezer/ Sparta
-TOOL
-Queens Of The Stone Age (collaboration with Darren Grealish!)
and...
TOYS!

6/1/02
Well, for a couple of months we've been telling everyone that we were
going to be posting rare items up for auction on EBAY (as soon as
we established an EBAY prescence), giving you all a shot at getting
some REALLY rare stuff.
Well, we've cleaned out the closets to make room for the newer stock...and
here it comes.
Our new EBAY ID is-
official*jermaine*art
(asteriks included)
Just go to EBAY.com, and do a seller search for our user name. Again,
it's:
official*jermaine*art
Remember to include those asteriks! Go on over and take a look: we've
already put a few goodies up for grabs! We'll see how this goes. If
there is enough of a response, we'll put some VERY rare things up
here...proofs, uncuts, sketches, paintings, and tons of Jermaine posters
that have been autographed by the bands. Let us know what you think!

Hi...
Its been a while, hasnt it? Hope things are well for everyone. First
off, thanks to everyone's kind input on the website. We're really
getting it like we want it, and you all's suggestions are really
key. Also, the 'Original Art' sections have been a TOTAL success.
Many folks
have walked away with MUCHO original art at really decent prices.
There will be a second load of stuff put up this week. As for all
of the inquiries about my paintings, the majority of them I had
available have already sold. There are still 2 paintings on the
FINE ART page available: 'Recussi-Annie' and 'The Criminal'(small
version) pieces are still available.
OK...heres
the new posters available...act kinda fast on these: theyre all
s/n runs of only 50! And theyre priced CHEAP!
-The Impossibles (last show ever):
The Impossibles are breaking up. This is the last show...so this
poster is sure to be a bit collectible. [:)] The bill includes a
ton of Austin's musik elite- Schatzi, RECOVER, The Riverboat Gamblers,
and several more. The image is pretty self-explanatory. 'You Work
For Your Leaders. Your Leaders Work For Us' RECOGNIZE.
-Peter Murphy
I love Mr. Bauhaus, and this poster was fun to do. Notice the lil'
guy in the bottom corner. Here is a clue...he is part of a race
called The Merb. You'll see more and learn more about The Merb over
the next few months. As for the rest of the image, after all the
hoopla about that 'Osbornes' show on MTV, I just thought it'd be
cool to see home life with a more 'coherent' rock star...He probably
sleeps in a coffin.
-The GET UP KIDS
'The Merb'...are everywhere.
-Pretty Girls Make Graves
This band is getting pretty hot, pretty fast. The image is pretty
self-revealing. The band takes their name from a great old Smith
song: hence, Mr. Morrissey is on a poster on the wall... So, there
you go. All of the above are 17x11 glossy prints on SPB bond..really
nice pieces...and theyre all s/n runs of only 50. They'll go quick.
To pick up anything you might like, go here... Also, we'd like to
thank all of you who took advantage of the #1's we put on sale last
month. All of the #1 posters we made available are just about gone.
Here come a new batch this week...check the NEWS page on the website
and stay tuned.
Coming soon from my pretty ol' hands:
-Guided By Voices
-KMFDM
Im making some moves to get into toys...you know, action figures.
Im trying to decide which characters would be the coolest ones to
apply this process to. What do you think? Teddy Bears? Aliens? Do
'THE MERB' look interesting to you? Let me know...I need the input.
wet kisses and warm, stanky hugs...

Hey!
Hope everyone is doing well. This is just a quick note to clue you
all in on a few things.
First off, check out the websites FOR SALE page: tons of original
art, INLUDING some 'fine art' pieces and a few paintings are up
and avaialable. First come-first served on some truly 'one-of-a-kind'
pieces of art.
'SPRING CLEANING!'
Also, as promised, we're going into the vaults and making available
some VERY rare stuff: original uncut sheets and some #1 posters,
from their respective runs. For instance, one of the posters for
sale is the BUILT TO SPILL Tour 2001 poster #1/100! There are several
IMPORTANT #1's: first come, first served- there can only be ONE
number one. Here are the first batch. Remember, if you see one you
want, let me know ASAP (Addendum: Items are selling quickly! Several
items have already sold since this list was posted): 2000

-BUILT TO SPILL #1 of 100: 200.00
In the next batch, we will pull out more favorites and some REALLY
early stuff (1995-1997). Keep up with the news on the website. FINALLY...any
Star Wars fans out there? I hope so. I haven't bought any STAR WARS
collectibles in about a year or so...and Im on the prowl
again. If youve got any old STAR WARS toys..the old stuff from the
70s/80s, and you wanna sell em...let me know. I'll also even trade
rare posters, and the like...even original artwork, if it's something
I really want. Star Wars is one of my few 'weak-spots'...so if you
got some stuff I want, you'll get a good trade. Julian Washington,
a collector in Albany, NY contacted me through EMAIL, and asked
if I would trade a carded (still in the package) Yoda figure from
1980 for a TOOL/Melvins poster that I did from early 98. He caught
me in a STAR
WARS kinda mood, and scored himself a copy of that poster...an ARTIST
PROOF no less- one of only 25 signed proofs. So let me know! I love
to trade if you've got old Star Wars toys...or ANY old 1970s/80s
toys. By the way, here's a list of the posters you can expect to
see very soon:
-Get Up Kids
-Peter Murphy
-Cornershop
-KMFDM
Im working on ALL of them...simultaneously...as we speak. Stay tuned.
OK, I'm done.
Later...
jermaine
PS-
Just Finished reading 'EXPLOSIVE ACTS: Toulouse-Lautrec, Oscar Wilde,
Felix Feneon And The Art & Anarchy Of The Fin De Siecle' by
David Sweetman. Amazing. What a time that mustve been to be an artist.
And Felix Feneon...wow. My new hero. Im doing a painting of him
presently...with a 'special friend' standing by his side in thepainting.
Look for it...the book NOW and the painting LATER...

Apparently, Layne Staley (lead singer of the band ALICE IN CHAINS)
is dead. The AP has reported that a body was found in his home and
that the person 'had apparently been dead for several days'. What
a shame. An unnoficial statement was made by police that the body
is indeed that of Staley. It's sad. The report says that the cause
of death is 'as yet, unspecified'...but, we can guess what probably
did him in. Staley's struggle with drugs,
notably heroin, is well accounted for. Like I said, it's a shame.
I've seen many talented people get too deep in that stuff...really
talented people that I've sat down with, in their sober periods,
and have been so impressed with their creativity and intelligence.
Don't wanna sound like a commercial, but DRUGS are NO GOOD. I've
seen them RUIN people who could've been the next Hendrix, or vanGogh,
or Shakespere. Get into art. Get into writing...or acting. Get into
skateboarding...collecting POSTERS...ANYTHING. Keep your brain occupied
with SOMETHING...but leave that junk alone, no matter how 'cool'
it may look to be 'reckless'. It certainly ain't cool to be where
Staley is right now. Im actually surprised that he lasted as long
as he did. Frankly, I thought he'd eat it LONG before Cobain did.
Anyone who's dealt with it first-hand will tell you that it's tough.
Addiction is really tough.
Meanwhile, life keeps moving for this ol' boy, and I finished 2
new paintings yesterday. One of them is based on a great story I
heard from Frank Kozik. He talked about a weird time when he was
working for these 'red-necks' down here in Texas, and they sent
him down to Houston's 5th Ward neighborhood to 'collect' some cash
from one of their 'clients'. For his 'protection', they give Frank
a gun to carry. By the way, for those of you that don't know, 5th
Ward is a ROUGH neighborhood. Gang turf, drugs, and all that. It's
made up predominately of minorities (due to the social placement
of minorities in ghetto 'projects' during nationalistic segregation
and the perpetuation of the same through systematic withholding
of equal education and social 'family training'...but, let's not
get into that). :)
ANYWAYS, Kozik ends up knee-deep in 'the hood', and he has to go
into this convenience store that the guy who owes the cash owns
and operates. The guy didn't wanna give up the cash at first, so
Frank has to wave the gun around and really ham it up to get the
guy to give him the cash. So, Frank finally gets the cash and like...
'strolls' out to his truck, still holding this gun in plain-view
for all around to see...and takes off. Hours later, he
gets back to Austin, thoroughly pissed at these 'red-neck' guys
who sorta sent him into 'the woods' without telling him how much
of a risk he'd be taking. It was a hillarious story.
That evening, while it was still fresh on my brain, I did an acryllic
and ink piece on watercolor-board called, 'KOZIK IN THE HOOD'. I'll
get an image of it uploaded in the next few days. The piece will
likely end up in Frank Kozik's possesion. I'll get more stuff up
for sale later this weekend, including some VERY rare uncut sheets
and some #1 posters, from their respective runs. For instance, one
of the posters for sale will be the BUILT TO SPILL Tour 2001 poster
#1/100! There will be several IMPORTANT #1's. Stay tuned: first
come, first served. By the way, if you haven't checked out the latest
RYE COALITION cd, check it out. Those guys have gotten so tight
since I last saw them. I also checked out the new SPARTA ep. Im
still deciding on that one. Gimme another week. NBA Playoffs start
today. The Houston Rockets no longer take part in the 'festivities',
so I gotta jump on someone elses wagon: Im pulling for the Sacremento
Kings. It's a shame when yer home team kinda sucks.
bucketfulls of luv...

I completed 2 new paintings today. The first was a watercolor that
I did of a face based on one of the poster images of Justin Hampton.
It turned out OK. I guess. The other painting was an acrylic piece
which is a profile headshot of 'Recussi-Annie': you know, that dummy/doll
that people learn CPR on. Instead of her smooth plastic skin tones,
I gave her very fleshy tones. It was done on a 11 x 8 cardboard-backed
canvas. Nothing big: mainly a
study in flesh tone combinations. The 2 paintings I mentioned a
couple of days ago were studies of Christ being removed from the
torture stake after is death, both paintings based
on Beckman's early 20th century painting of the same subject. Ill
get images of all of these up on the site ASAP. Finally got my hands
on the new MARS VOLTA (ex-At The Drive In) 3-song EP. Simply amazing.
Very tight rythms and the effects are quite put together. Some of
the vocal effects are downright 'innovative'.

Added a ton of original artwork to the FOR SALE pages, specifically
in the 'INKED POSTER LAYOUTS/ ORIGINALS' section. Look for a new
poster sometime next week. And, BOY are you guys gonna dig the bands
we're lining up for the 2-man art show Im doing up in Seattle this
Summer. More news real soon about the other artist involved, the
dates of the show, and the bands who'll be playing. I've just finished
2 paintings. I'll tell you all more about them, tomorrow. Im sleepy.

Got a LOT of NEW things uploaded, today! Got the new FOR SALE sections
up. There's some original artwork up there, available for you to
browse/buy. There will be TONS more stuff added to these pages in
the next few weeks. ALSO, the new FAQ page is up. Some of the most
frequently asked questions about 'yours truly' are covered there.
HERE it is!
|
|
4/7/02
New things for the website are almost done! The UPDATED 'For Sale'
page is just about complete. Ive got a few more pieces of original
art to upload. Also, a brand new FAQ section is just about done.
Now, you'll be able to get answers to all of those personal / technical
/ trivial questions about what I do around here and how it gets
done. Also, the interview I did recently with '3RD WHEEL' magazine
will be uploaded in a few days. This time I'll post the pix that
accompanied the interview (too bad for you). Next up will be the
ARTWORK page, which has needed a BIG overhaul for some time, now.In
other news, Im watching TV last nite and a MILLER GENUINE DRAFT
beer commercial comes on. I recognize the background music...and
after a few seconds of trying to place it, it hits me: 'Gravity
Rides Everything' by MODEST MOUSE, from their 'The Moon And Antarctica'
album. I don't know what to think about that: Modest Mouse...and
beer. It's cool to see them getting paid, though.
Anyways, um...
More 'relevant' news, later.

First off, the FUGAZI show a couple of nights ago was amazing. Those
guys still got it: the show was better than the FUGAZI shows I've
seen in the past. CONGRATS to the guys in HANDS UP HOUSTON: they
arranged this show, brought it to town, did hardcore 'on the street'
promotion, and sold 2.000 tickets...all with NO radio or corporate
advertisement. Ian even began the show by thanking them and saying
that this was how it used to be back in the early days of the DC
scene. Very cool. It made me prouder than I already am to be working
with HANDS UP HOUSTON, occasionally.
Here are some pix from the show:
Meanwhile, in 'poster world'...
I'm currently working on a couple of things: one is a poster for
the upcoming Houston show for SPIRITUALIZED and Black Rebel Motorcycle
Club. Also, Im working on a new fine-art piece. In the past, my
fine-art pieces have been VERY limited: I usually do nothing over
25 copies and they pretty much sell out instantly. Now, Im curious:
do you all want to see more fine-art pieces of mine available for
sale? Please, let me know! Im here: Jermaine@JermaineRogers.com
Take it easy...

I'm tired. It's been a super long day, and I just got back from
FUGAZI. My throat is sore. My neck hurts. I've just come to terms
with the fact that I am in horrible shape. But more self-derision
later. Pix, news, and reviews tomorrow.
Sloppy kisses...

What up?
Hey, if you ordered something from us recently, just hold your horses:
TONS of stuff was shipped out today. The people at the Post Office
saw me wandering in and each of them started praying that I wouldn't
come to their particular registers. Anyways, the poster showing
Im having in Seattle (this July) is coming together nicely! We've
got almost the entire line-up of bands performing nailed down. People,
it is going to ROCK. Between myself and the other artist showing
with me, there will be close to 100 posters on display, and
they'll all be available for sale. Let me add that there will be
some VERY rare stuff there, and it will be priced VERY generously.
We expect a heavy turn-out, and tons of friends from the Northwest
art / music scene will be there hanging out. It should be quite
the 'people watching' event, at the very least. I'll also bring
a bunch of original art and sketches that will also be for sale.
In other news, remember: FUGAZI play Houston tomorrow night (3-28
at THE INTERNATIONAL BALLROOM). The HANDS UP HOUSTON crew are putting
this show on, and they've already presold an amazing amount of tix,
but they've still got some available. You can get them from SOUND
EXCHANGE, Vinal Edge, Hourglass, or just walk up tomorrow night
at the show. Finally, to answer a question I recieved by e-mail.
Dustin Rickers wrote:
"Jermaine... Great posters. I love the artwork and the thought
you put into your imagery. Keep it up. Also, I was wondering, is
it true that you used to hide your girlfriend's name in your posters?
Do you still do that? Just wondering. Id heard from a friend of
mine that you did."
Thanks
for the kind words, Dustin. Yes, it is true. I have hidden my better
half's name in the artwork of many of my posters. If you look closely,
you'll find the name 'JEN' in pretty much all of my posters from
1999 and 2000. I still do it occasionally, but not as frequently.
Why not as
frequently? I don't know.
And who is this 'Jen'? Here's a pic of the gal:

3/26/02
I woke up at 3AM this morning and my throat was on fire. Ive been
drinking hot tea all morning. This sucks. Im listening to the new
EELS cd, right now. It's called SOULJACKER, and it's pretty amazing.
You guys should really check it out. Iv'e seen pix of 'E' (singer
of THE EELS) lately, in some music zine. Dude has a long and dark,
thick beard, and he's dressed in all black wearing sunglasses and
carrying a cane. He looks like Robert Deniro's 'Devil' in the film
ANGEL HEART. Yet, the music still retains that 'indie' flair. It's
weird. I would've expected something a bit more sinister.

3/25/02
What's up?
Yea, it's been a long time since we've had an update. How have you
been? Really? Iv'e been swell. OK...let's get to it.
Ive been SO busy since the start of the year. I really haven't had
time for much else: between making posters, taking care of some
personal stuff, and watching old DOCTOR WHO re-runs on video, I
haven't had time for frequent updates. So, here comes a whole buncha'
new things for you to play with see images of all of these posters
over on the FOR SALE page):
-FUGAZI: Yea, a great oppurtunity to do a poster for a show by one
of my favorite bands. I knew I wanted to 'say something' on this
one. You know... it's FUGAZI. I've got a lot of opinions on lots
of things, and this poster seemed a perfect platform to discuss
some of them...primarily my feelings on 'INTEGRITY'. There's lots
of text on this poster. The accompanying image is a bit too small
for you to make out all of the smaller text clearly: the poster
is 30 x 20, so that 'small text' is actually pretty big. Heres what
the small text says:
(UNDER
the year 1536)- 'Against the orders of the Church-State, William
Tyndale secretly translated important documents into the language
of the common peoples. Betrayed by a friend, he was taken into custody.
He was strangled and burned at the stake.'
(UNDER the year 1890)- 'Ignored during his lifetime, Vincent Van
Gogh struggled with his stunning visions of the world. Plagued by
his own nagging doubts & emotional illness, he saw and 'felt'
life with unusual intensity. He was branded as a 'madman' for it.
He was a human BEING.'
(and under the year 2002)- 'Tickets $6.00'
Yea,
its a LOT of text. I once had another older poster artist tell me
to avoid too much text on a poster because people didnt want to
see that. I kind of agree, but I really dont. For example, I came
across this batch of CUBAN Political posters from the 50s/60s about
a year ago...and on most of them, theres a tiny illo and TONS of
text. They come off really powerfully, because of what the text
says. Man, if you can 'draw' with words...thats what I want to learn
how to do. Im not really as good as I should be at that. Im still
constantly struggling to do something DIFFERENT from what's out
there in 'poster world', and I admit that a lot of the journey is
'in the dark', so to speak.. There are all these ideas in my head,
and Im trying to get them out on paper in ways that makes sense.
Bear with
me. :)
VERY rare s/n run of 150- These will be VERY limited.
-PROMISE RING/ Schatzi/ LUNA:
This one is really a new favorite of mine. It was for a great show
during SxSW, with a TON of great bands performing on the same stage...including
the amazing SCHATZI, whom I've worked with before. A great band
they are, and I should be doing a new piece of artwork for them
sometime soon. As far as the image goes, it's based on an old HALL
OF FANTASY radio show from the early 60's called 'The Shadow People'.
The little girl is based on a friend of mine. She says the prettiest
'flowers' are the weeds. Isnt that a strange and cool thing to think?
Screenprinted (s/n proof run of only 50!)
-The FAKES:
Here's one for a great Seattle band called THE FAKES. These guys
are blowing up big time, now...and are presently one of the new
'hot things' in London music-gossip. A great sound, and a great
manager ( the 'great' famed poster artist Justin Hampton manages
this band ), Justin asked if I was into doing a poster for these
guys and I jumped at the oppurtunity.
The image is an obvious play on the band's name. Justin manages
a great band, here...really 'smart' music. As far as the design,
I could introduce you all to this lady I know who's an old HIPPIE
in her 50s, and she will lay out very detailed 'evidence' that Jimi
Hendrix was an alien being. You listen to that guitar solo at the
end of 'Bold As Love'...and man you gotta wonder... Seriously though,
it's a fun idea to ponder. ROCK-N-ROLL stars are
probably the most powerful human beings on this planet, as far as
influence.
Screenprint (s/n run of 100)
-THE BREEDERS:
These girls are at it again, and it's still the same as it ever
was. They're good. This one is taken from a piece of mixed-media
artwork I did for this show. Watercolors and charcoal, with a bit
of India Ink thrown in for good measure. This one is a 17x11 glossy
offset and has a VERY limited s/n run of 100.
-JON SPENCER BLUES EXPLOSION:
Here's my second poster for these guys in as many years. The image
is based on the whole ENRON thing...just my take on it. I saw a
guy on the news here in Houston. He was interviewed after he was
officially 'laid off' (read: canned) from ENRON. He had a wife,
7 kids, and a sweet lifestyle. Now, his house is for sale, the cars
and the boat are going to be traded in for one 'economy' vehicle,
and he's applying for food stamps. Savings, retirement, everything:
GONE. Nothing is certain in this world. If you can learn the secret
of having plenty and having nothing...and how to be content and
balanced with either....that's the key. Anyways, its a 17x11 glossy
offset and it is VERY limited to 50 s/n copies.
In other news, a straight-up big time update to the website is coming.
FINALLY,
there will be tons of original artwork up on the site to view, some
of it for sale. There is also a new interview that Ive done that
will be going up on the site, soon. I'll fill you in more, later
this week. Check the website NEWS page: I should be giving you some
play-by-play stuff on a daily basis from now on. Website? Of course:
http://www.JermaineRogers.com Ill also be posting some pics of my
trip to Paris recently, since many of you have been asking about
it. Plus, a bunch of other really cool stuff. Just pay attention.
ALSO,
BIG NEWS ABOUT A SHOW.
Yes, there is a art showing coming. Me and another VERY well-known
poster artist are doing a 2 man show in rainy Seattle, Washington
this coming July. It's finally been confirmed after a lot of planning,
and will be at a CLASSIC location. And the band line-up for our
opening night celebration is going to SMOKE. More news, soon: my
partner-artist in this show and I should make a joint announcement
on both of our websites VERY soon.
That's it, for now...
REMEMBER, check the website NEWS page DAILY for updates of relevant
developments, new poster releases, 'prelim' looks at artwork/sketches,
and just plain-old 'Jermaine-sized' rambling about nothing in particular.
With warm regards and ugly love...
Jermaine
